Teaching

Teaching is a core part of my professional practice. As an architect, urbanist, and researcher, I approach education as a space where theory, design, technology, and practice intersect.

My teaching spans architecture, urbanism, history and theory, and emerging professional models, combining rigorous intellectual frameworks with applied methods and contemporary tools. I have taught in academic, professional, and online contexts, working with students and institutions across Europe, the United States, South Asia, and Latin America.

Pedagogical Approach

In my teaching, I combine a strong theoretical foundation with hands-on experience in research, design, and entrepreneurship. My courses emphasize:

  • critical thinking and historical grounding

  • interdisciplinary inquiry

  • research-driven design methods

  • engagement with contemporary technologies and working practices

I see teaching as a form of shared inquiry, encouraging students to position architecture and urbanism within broader cultural, social, and technological systems.

Academic Teaching Experience

I began my academic career in 2005 as an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (ETSA Barcelona), where I taught architectural design and theory. Since then, I have held teaching appointments and visiting roles at universities in Europe and the United States.

I am also the founder of Build Academy, an educational platform focused on architecture, cities, and interdisciplinary learning, through which I teach online and develop new educational formats.

Curriculum and Program Development

Alongside teaching, I work with institutions on:

  • course and curriculum design

  • program development

  • interdisciplinary educational frameworks

  • hybrid and online teaching formats

This work is aimed at universities and academic leaders seeking to expand or rethink architectural and urban education in response to contemporary challenges.

Teaching Philosophy

My experience across academia, research, and practice has shaped a teaching philosophy that sees architecture as both a cultural discipline and a civic responsibility. I encourage students to think critically, work across scales, and engage with the social and technological forces shaping cities today.

I am open to invitations for:

  • teaching design studios and seminars

  • developing courses or curricula
